In Pumping Water, the power required to raise a given quantity of water to any height up to 100 ft. can be calculated from this Table, which assumes the use of a double inlet centrifugal pump of good design working well up to its full capacity and reasonably near to its most efficient speed. To calculate the total power consumption the appropriate horse-power figure in the table must be multiplied by the number of gallons per minute to be pumped and the total effective head in feet.
