The Counter-Balanced Laboratory Pressure Filter is designed to handle bucket samples of mill pulps. Due to the counter-balanced mechanism, it can be operated as easily and quickly as the smaller sizes.
While the filter is being filled, the cover is held back by the weight of the counter-balance. During filtering, the yoke holds the filter medium tightly in place, forming a complete seal. Safety is assured by the “Quick as a Wink” pressure coupling which must be disconnected before the filter can be opened. For removal of the filter cake, the cylinder is revolved to the side and the filter cake is completely exposed. This unit can also be used as a vacuum filter.
The ease and rapidity of filtering samples with this unit allows time for the handling of a large number of mill samples every day. This compact, efficient filter is particularly needed for use on samples where removal of moisture is difficult and slow speed is desired.
Pressure Sample Filter provides superior safety, speed, and convenience. The barrel is moved vertically and horizontally with just one hand and is completely independent from both the upper and lower cover. The lower cover remains stationary while the upper cover rotates with a simple cam arrangement and tightly seals against the barrel by the rotating hand wheel. All parts line up automatically.
The filter cover is raised and held in position by a weight. The pulp is easily poured into the cylinder without interference from the cover. The filter medium is held tightly against the base. In this position the filter can be used as a vacuum filter by attaching a vacuum line.
The pressure line enters through the hole in the yoke. The pressure must be released at the coupling before opening, safety being thus assured. Complete seal is made at both top and bottom of the cylinder. The hand wheel pressure with screw ratio is positive. The Balanced Mechanism is in itself a decided improvement over any other type of filter. Operation is thus facilitated and simplified. The drain pipe is so arranged that discharge is made through one central point.
